The Frances Bibbins Latimer Oral History Contest series was created to encourage students to gain a perspective of the lives of their elders and the history of the community in the mid to late 20th century. The contest, held yearly in 2017-2019, provided students in Northampton Middle and High School with a list of questions and instructions to conduct 15 to 20 minute oral history interviews with individuals of age 50 or older and submit their entries to Eastern Shore Public Library. Monetary prizes were sponsored by local businesses.
